Pe acelea de a căror neascultare vă temeţi, povăţuiţi-le, părăsiţi-le în paturi şi loviţi-le(*)! Dar dacă ele [revin şi] ascultă de voi, atunci nu mai căutaþi pricină împotriva lor. Allah este Cel mai Înalt, Măreţ ['Aliyy, Kabir].
* Loviţi-le, dar nu violent, ci uşor, pentru a le readuce la ascultare. - Argumentul pentru lovire uşoară nu are baza lingvistică, textul din arabă nu spune acest lucru.

Bello Masaba, the 87-year old Nigerian Islamic faith healer, who was detained for several weeks in 2008, for having too many wives, is unrelenting in practising his peerless polygamy, according to online reports today.
In an interview with a foreign newspaper, Masaba disclosed how he continues to write his name into the Guinness Book of Records, as Nigeria’s most prolific man, by marrying even more wives.
“He is still marrying everytime Miss Right comes along. He now has 86 wives, the youngest 19 and the oldest 64. Nine have died and 12 he divorced for disobedience,” the reporter for Los Angeles Times said.
The report further said that Masaba has had 185 children, with 133 still surviving, the youngest child being just a month old. Altogether, he had married 107 women.

Shaima Ghassaniya was found guilty Tuesday of driving without the government’s permission
Jeddah: A Saudi court has sentenced a woman to 10 lashes for challenging a ban on women driving in the conservative kingdom, Amnesty International said on Tuesday.
Activist Samar Badawi says Shaima Ghassaniya was found guilty Tuesday of driving without the government’s permission.
The sentence was reported two days after Saudi King Abdullah granted women the right to vote and run in municipal elections. He also promised to include them in the next all-appointed consultative Shura Council in 2013.
“Flogging is a cruel punishment in all circumstances but it beggars belief that the authorities in Saudi Arabia have imposed lashes on a woman apparently for merely driving a car”, Philip Luther, an Amnesty regional deputy director, said in an emailed statement.
